Call for Symposium Proposals
The Materials Research Society of Japan (MRS-J) invites symposium proposals for the Materials Research Meeting 2027 (MRM2027).
MRM2027 will be held from December 13 to 17, 2027, at the Kobe Convention Center (Kobe International Conference Center and Kobe International Exhibition Hall) and the Kobe Portopia Hotel in Kobe, Japan.
Launched by MRS-J in 2019, MRM is Japan's first cross-disciplinary international conference in materials research. It provides a premier forum for high-level scientific discussions and promotes collaboration among researchers and engineers from academia, industry, and research institutions around the world. Each symposium offers an opportunity to exchange the latest research achievements, discuss emerging challenges, and explore future directions in a focused research area from interdisciplinary perspectives.
MRM2027 will highlight the latest advances in materials research through a balanced program covering both fundamental science and technological innovations for a sustainable future. The technical program will consist of approximately 50 symposia, organized into the following eight thematic clusters:
- Fundamental Materials Science
- Advanced Structural Materials and Processing
- Electronic, Photonic and Quantum Materials
- Next Generation Semiconductors
- Energy Materials and Electrochemical Systems
- Functional Materials and Smart Devices
- Soft Materials, Polymers and Biomaterials
- Sustainable Materials and Circular Technologies
- Frontiers in Materials Research for Future Society
We warmly invite researchers from around the world to submit innovative and timely symposium proposals. Proposals must be submitted through the conference website by September 30, 2026.
